Rising To The Road | Snaps From The Road On Our Québec Maritime Drive

Roadtrip-inspiring views from our autumn drive around the Québec Maritime

Our voyage around the Québec Maritime was as much for the drive as it was for the restorative stops we made (in Percé to explore Île Bonaventure and Percé Rock and in Gaspé's Forillon National Park to camp and picnic, and bike and hike).

The drive itself was breathtaking. I found myself constantly grabbing for my camera and hanging out the window, attempting to capture the views flying past as The Great White and The Spriglet cruised along. Naturally, most of the photos I took in this manner ended up crooked, with the rearview mirror in the shot, or just too blurry. But a few, below, come close to sharing what dazzled our eyes while simultaneously relaxing and inspiring our brains as we traveled. If these don't make you want to jump behind the wheel and hit the road, I don't know what will!

I can't pinpoint where most of these were taken because they were point-and-shoot-on-the-move captures (half the time, I had no idea where we were!), but I made a note in the captions for those I can identify.

This house was completely painted with butterflies. It was kinda magical in situ.
